DISAPPOINTED... BUT OK WITH IT

I think I've made my decision on my run this morning. I had 14 miles plan and during the first half I could only think about the work that was ahead of me today for my thesis and I just realised that my heart wasn't into this training right now... I bailed after 7 miles and thought I had put a good effort (Rocky did well too!).

I want to finish my thesis and running has to take the backseat and you can't do that while training for a full. I am pretty disappointed, I feel like I am letting myself down but I registered on a rush (coup de tĂȘte in French...). I wanted to do this after I broke up with my boyfriend (yeah that Newfie guy) and thinking that I could manage it all but unfortunately it appears I am no super human so I have to deal that... I ran 2 marathons on 18 weeks training and they were both hard, not sure its a good idea to go along this journey on a 8 weeks training... anyway thanks for reading and I'll just switch to the half and be a happy runner again.

Sounds like you made the correct decision for you as a whole person at this time-you have years and years to pursue an active running life and sometimes other things in life need to take precedence. Nothing shabby about a half-and easier onthe body!

I'm sorry chica, but it definitely sounds like the right decision!

Aw... tough decisions, but you'll pull through -- you always seem to! Nothing wrong with taking a little step back. Sometimes, it'll help you go further.

I bet you'll be happy with this decision in the long run. :-)

Hey, you're running! That's what makes up happy, the ability to get out and run!

You have so much going on. You will be ok though. Think about how much more you will be able to enjoy the city after doing a half instead of a full!

I may be running the half with you. My knees/legs are still not doing well. :(

This really sucks about the knee Laurel! That would be great to be running together though!!! Is J running the full??
