AROUND THE BAY HERE I COME!

I started my new training schedule 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping the amount of cross training will keep me away from more injuries....

Everything is going well so far. The runs are great but my foot/ankle is sore the day after I run. I am doing tons of stretching exercices and using Icy/Hot to massage it. So far so good. I don't think I could up the runs to 3 times a week right now....

I am still on the quest for the perfect shoe.. after spending 1h and trying about 10 pair of shoes I ended up buying the most expensive ones at the Running Room... The Brooks Trance 8 that I paid a big fortune: 225$ CDN, they better be worth it! I tried them last and they fit perfectly, tomorrow will be my first run with them. I'm hoping not to lose any toenails with those.. the Asics were a killer for me.

I am starting my new job next week!! I decide to take a chance on the City of Montreal one. I am super excited and pumped! In the meantime I am enjoying these last few days of freedom =)

Have a good week everyone!

congrats on taking the job! Yay! Hope the shoes work out well for you! If you can, run on the TM with them... they'll take them back within 30 days i think if worn only inside... for the $$ you paid, worth making sure! Glad the training is going well.

If it is toenails you are worried about, have you ever tried buying shoes .5-1 size bigger? My running shoes are all one size larger than my normal shoes. The day I made the switch was the day I stopped having shoe problems...

Here is to an injury-free '09!

WOW! that is alot of money.... I like to buy a good show, but I have yet to spend that much. Maybe if I tried them on I would buy them too. Hope they are nice to your toes.

Good luck with the new kicks and your training program. I am so happy for you that you are able to get back out there. Just listen to you body and dont be afraid to add rest days or run less distance, if you feel sore. Have fun and go Sonia!!!

Watch out "City of Montreal" here comes Sonia! How exciting for you!

No need to rush your running! It's better to be safe than sorry and taking it slow and easy will pay off in the long run!

Best wishes with your new job and happy training there and in your running!
