STUPID WINTER

Almost twisted my ankle at the end of my LSD today.... trying to avoid a stupid jerk driving his car way too close to me.

Ankle is now bruised...

Knee hurts A LOT...

Icing both.... stupid stupid winter.

Pity party line: WHY ME?!

ETA: My Dad ran his 2nd race yesterday, the tropical 5K in Miami. He had a PB with a time of 41:05, a little faster than in Montreal and considering he had a bronchitis for the last 2 weeks, a great performance! I am so proud of my Dad! I cannot wait till the day he's going to say, let's run a marathon together =)

I think next time you should join your dad in Miami for the 5km and get out of that icebox you call home!!

Congrats to your dad! Here is a super cool gift idea - marathon entry fee for something ~ 1 year away (if he has a bday or something coming up). The 2 of you can run it together!

ps - I will gladly help pace you to a 4:30, if you will cover my airfare back!! ;)

That's great! Not about your ankle (that's bad) but about your Dad. It would be great if my Dad took up running so we could do it together. I agree that you should run in Miami!

Oh no! Yeah, Jack Frost seems to be getting on everyone's nerves. Get some rest -- hope your knee and ankle get to feeling better soon!

Oh, and cheers to your dad -- that's awesome!

Winter is so dangerous! Terrible footing and idiot drivers are not a good combo. I hope the ice helps.

Yay for Dad!!!

I am so happy for your dad! I can't believe I wasn't there yesterday for the Marathon. It's the first time in three years I wasn't there for it. I miss all my Miami running buddies :(

That sucks about your ankle. Hopefully it's just a little bruise and will heal up soon. Stay off it for a few days and ice it up. Or in your case, just stand outside for 10 seconds in your arctic tundra weather and it should heal up quickly :)

Sorry to hear about the ankle. Take care of it and don't push too hard. I am always super impressed by your determination. Keep it up and the injuries will be a fading memory before long.

Isn't motivating family members to run great? I got my dad to run 1/2 of my 1st marathon with me and now we always talk running together. (he did not run at all previously) Do you guys ever run together? Sorry about your ankle... stupid cars!

I think that is so awesome for anyone to run with their dad or mom in any marathon!
