The =( and the =)

=(

No running for another 2 months...... ='(

well I can try 10-15 mins once a week near the end of the 2 months to see how i feel... f'ing hell!!!

It can take 6-9 months to get a bone scan appointment and since I don't have insurance I can't go to a private clinic as it would cost 600$+ ...

STUPID FOOT!

=)

The doctor thinks it is healing properly and just needs time.

She doesn't think the bone scan will reveal anything.

So yeah good and bad but I still can't run.

So, I am going to invest in a bike trainer sooner than later. My little stationnary bike is a pain in the ass, I cannot control much of the resistance on it anymore. It starts to makes a screeching noise after 1h even without putting resistance. Sucks ass!

Oh well, keep on trucking eh?

Have a good week-end!

PS. May the wind be at your back tomorrow Laurel! I will be rooting for you at the Philly marathon (and hopefully track you too!)

That isn't so bad. It's good news in fact. Be patient, stay positive and you will be back soon.

Hope time goes fast with your healing...I know it's hard to be patient when you can't run.

Glad to hear you are healing! How frustrating to not run, but hopefully all this time off will have allowed your foot to get all better. Any thoughts on an MRI? Would it give you any different information from a bone scan? If you do want one, put yourself on the list and sometimes you can get moved up through cancellations.

By the way, bike trainers are great! Well, as great as biking and not going anywhere can be. I would definitely recommend a fluid trainer over a magnetic trainer. The CycleOps Fluid is a really popular one, but I ordered one from Nashbar (the Nashbar fluid trainer) and it was a pretty good price even having to pay for S&H and a bit for duty.

I know it's hard to not run. I've spent a lot of the second half of the year not running. Best wishes for healing!

Bike trainer is a good idea. I think I'm going to be using mine again soon. :-)

That's so frustrating! Hang in there! Glad to hear you are at least healing well.

Awww, thanks Sonia! I wish we could meet up after the race like we did in Miami :)

I'm sorry about the foot. that stinks. I'm glad you're still on track with the other cardio though. It will make it better when you start running again.

Frustrating for certain but rest that foot! Do you have access to a pool? You could swim/ deep water 'run' in the meantime!

Look at the bright side, those two months are cold and snowy! Just take your time and you'll be back.
