I HAVE A PLAN!

So, I finally sat down to make a running schedule for the time that is left before the Detroit half. I want to do 3 days a week of running so here it goes:

This week
Friday: 5 miles
Sunday 8 miles

Week 3
Tuesday: 4 miles
Thursday: 5 miles
Sunday: 9 miles

Week 2
Tuesday: 5 miles
Thursday: 5 miles
Sunday: 10 miles

Week 1
Tuesday: 4 miles

Thursday: 2 miles
Sunday: Half-marathon

This is a quick 4 week plan to a half-marahton... that seems crazy to write but I feel like my running base will come to the surface once I start running. I have only been running 3 milers since I started again so it will be challenging.... I hope the rest time in between runs will make it easier on my body. I will never know until I try so that's what I am going to do! I am really looking forward to run on the Bridge and in the Tunnel =)

Have a good running week everyone!

Be careful and listen to your body! Once you get in Canada, you have to get back to the US for your car! I have less time to train than you.

Good luck. You'll do fine.

You'll do great! I see you were a bit ahead of me in the Nissan 10 miler-I really liked that race with the nice weather and the spit. I've got to get to Detroit-maybe I'll pick that one next year.

I also only go three times a week, twice for three miles each and the third time as a weekend long run. That has worked well. It's not as if you're completely starting from scratch and with the cooler weather it will be less of a strain.

You will do great!!

I bet your body will get used to it again soon and you'll never even remember when you were sick. :-)

Let us know how it goes!

Thanks everyone! I did it! 5 miles... My body is sore today....

Mark: I love the Nissan 10 miler too! Lots of water, perfect weather (still cooler than usual weather) and lots of people. I would do it again if I didn't have to drive 4h after!
